We will be purchasing gifts for one boy and one girl from the angel tree at Wal-Mart. This is a great opportunity to help another child whose family is struggling. The gifts purchased for the angle tree children will be on display at our parties. The children will help wrap these presents. Wouldn’t it be great if we had enough money brought in to sponsor SEVERAL children?! Please send in all money by December 15th. Be sure to watch for more information about party details.

I will also check with Mr. McLeod about extra recess during that period as well. This was spurred on by a couple of students asking if I would reward them if everyone in that period made an A+. I suggested let’s go with everyone in the period making an A. We have a company that will embroider student names or initials on their book bags. They will come to the school and get the bags AND return them on the same day! The cost to students will be $8.00 per bag. The school will get $2.00 back for each bag that is embroidered. We will send home flyers on September 8, and they will begin collecting bags on September 11.

All about me!
Hi! I'm Mrs. Smith and I teach science and math at Westminster Elementary School. This is my second year in fourth grade. I team teach with Mrs. Vargo. She teaches language arts and social studies. I am also a jv basketball coach at Walhalla High School.
I graduated from Clemson University with a degree in Elementary Education. My husband and I celebrated our one year anniversary in May. I have a chocolate lab named Tuff because he is tough stuff.
Some things that I enjoy doing outside of school are four wheeling, hiking, fishing, and tubing down the river. I also enjoy watching the Clemson Tigers whip up on their opponents during football season! :)
I am looking forward to another amazing year teaching fourth grade!!
