(Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Vargo)
Week At A Glance:
Math: What is place value and how does it affect a number’s value? What is an algorithm to solve addition and subtraction problems?
Science: What are magnets? This year science fair will be done in the classroom with a group. If your student would like to enter an individual science fair project they may but it must be done at home. Anyone completing an individual science fair project will receive extra credit!! Check out my blog for science fair ideas: www.scienceandmathwithmrssmith.blogspot.com
Language Arts: We will discuss how cause and effect relationships in a text help us to determine the plot development in a story. We will be reading The Baker’s Neighborhood. This is written in the format of a play. We will also discuss simple and complete predicates. Spelling Test on Friday, Story summary quiz on Friday.
Social Studies: We will learn about the Silk Road and discuss Marco Polo.
Special Announcements:
ACT OUT auditions will be Thursday 3-3:30 p.m. Please be sure to pick up your children promptly at 3:30.
Remember your child can earn 50% of all their sales for the Home Interior Fundraiser. We will be going to Stone Mountain on May 1st for a Civil War Reenactment. This goes very well with our Social Studies curriculum and will be a great “hands on” way to review prior to taking the PASS (old PACT) test. The total cost for this trip is $75.00. All of this could be earned through this fundraiser! All fundraiser forms are due by October 16th .
