Week At A Glance:
Math: How can we show change over time? What type of graph shows change? What is probability?
Science: We will review our unit on the solar system and test on Wednesday. Then we will begin our unit on animals and plants.
Language Arts: A Very Important Day by Maggie Rugg Herold: What is the author’s purpose for writing a text? What are some good test taking strategies? What is a verb? What are main and helping verbs? What are action and linking verbs? What is the process for completing a research paper?
Social Studies: Chapter 10: Forming a New Government What are the Bill of Rights? We will review Lessons 2 & 3 and have a TEST on FRIDAY, April 24th.
Special Announcements:
· Any families willing to send a healthy snack to school during PASS Testing week, please let us know. Last year the school was able to provide snacks for this week, but due to budget cuts snacks will not be provided. Some ideas are cereal bars, fruit snacks, pretzels or chips, juice boxes or water bottles, etc…. We will be PASS Testing Tuesday, May 12 through Friday, May 15.

Great Blog, Mrs. Smith! I see that you are studying plants soon. I wanted to share with you what I did with my third grade class. We germinated seeds in hydrogels. Here is some information on it in case you wish to try it. http://www.stevespanglerscience.com/experiment/00000038 The kids logged the process in their science journals. My principal loved it since it dealt with water conservation. Good luck with your unit!
